Republican U.S. Senate and House of Representative Primary June 12, 2012
The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered in the precinct in which you live in order to be qualified. In order to be eligible to vote in the REPUBLICAN PRIMARY ELECTION to be held on Tuesday, JUNE 12, 2012, you must register no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, MAY 21, 2012. The office at 1 Woollfolk Ave, Louisa, Virginia, will be open Saturday, JUNE 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the convenience of registered voters who need to vote by absentee ballot for this election date. JUNE 9th at 5:00 pm is the last day for this election on which absentee ballots may be voted in person by qualified applicants.

If you work outside of Louisa County, avoid stress and vote absentee. It does not matter how far away you work or what hours you work as long as your place of employment is outside of the County of Louisa you are eligible to vote absentee. You are also eligible to vote absent for the following reasons:
  • Student - A student attending an educational institution or a spouse of a student attending an educational institution.
  • Caregiver - The primary caregiver for a family member.
  • Business - Due to business reasons you will be out of town.
  • Confinement - If you are waiting trial or have been convicted of a misdemeanor.
  • Personal Business or Vacation - If you will be traveling outside your county on business or vacation.
  • U.S. Uniformed Services - On active duty or are the spouse or a dependant of an active duty service member.
  • Working and commuting to and from home for 11 or more hours during the hours between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Disability or Illness
  • Pregnant
  • Temporarily residing outside of the United States.
  • Religious obligation.




Did you know...
  • If you have moved since you last voted, you need to register at your current address to assure your vote will count.
  • It's a good idea for everyone to check their registration status - just to be sure - call the Registrar's Office at 540-967-3427
