Who We Are
OUR MISSION
Louisa County Habitat for Humanity, a chapter of the
Greater Charlottesville Habitat for Humanity, seeks to provide simple,
decent, affordable housing to socially and economically deprived people
in Louisa County area as part of Habitat for Humanity International's
global ministry to build houses in partnership with God's people in
need. By building and rehabilitating homes in the Louisa County area,
we hope to contribute to the elimination of inadequate housing and encourage
members of our community to assume an active Christian stewardship locally,
regionally, nationally and internationally.
By bringing together people
of all races, classes, and religions in this common cause, we hope to
foster the kinds of personal relationships among God's people that will
encourage mutual understanding and respect. In keeping with this commitment,
eligibility to receive housing being built or rehabilitated by this
organization shall not be denied on the basis of race, creed, national
origin, sex, or age. Motivated by a sense of Christian love, we believe
that working in cooperation with God's people in need to create a better
habitat in which to live and work is an important way to witness to
the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world.
Louisa County Habitat for Humanity seeks to fulfill its mission by soliciting
donations of money, land, building materials and volunteer labor to
help house Gods people in need.
COMMITTEES
Committee work is the lifeblood of Habitat for Humanity.
Long before any building can take place, a partner family must be selected,
funds must be raised, a building site selected and procured, and many,
many others things must be done.
The seven committees listed below work together to perform the numerous
jobs necessary to serve our mission. There is an ongoing need for willing
volunteers on all of these teams. Feel free to contact the chairperson
of any committee you might like to serve on.
